        Oslo, 10 June - 2008 - Trolltech today announced the launch of Qt Jambi4.4 – the latest version of its application framework for Java?development. Qt Jambi is based on the recently-launched Qt 4.4, andbrings its benefits to Java developers: including the ability todevelop web and multimedia enriched applications across desktopoperating systems.
        Qt Jambi builds on the C++ version of Qt to deliver richfunctionality to developers using the Java programming language.  WithQt Jambi 4.4, Java programmers can now build more advanced, richdesktop applications that incorporate a range of new features,including:

• Qt WebKit Integration – Using WebKit, the opensource browser engine inside Apple’s Safari browser, the Apple iPhoneand millions of Nokia smartphones, developers can now blend web andnative content and functionality, create innovative user interfaces,and deliver a consistent, web-enriched user experience.
• Multimedia framework– Integration with Phonon, a multimedia framework developed inconjunction with the KDE community makes it easy for Java programmersto integrate rich multimedia content into applications.
• Widgets in Graphics View– Qt Jambi adds the flexibility of embedding widgets into a scene,bringing layouts, styling, pop-ups and even window decorations into thecanvas realm, and allowing the rotation, scaling, and application ofperspective transformations to widgets.
• Concurrency Framework – Qt Jambi’s new concurrency API makes it easy to develop multithreaded applications and take advantage of multi-CPU systems.
• Enhanced XML support– Incorporating Qt’s support for the XQuery standard, Qt Jambi enablesdevelopers to query, extract and transform data from XML encodedcontent in Qt Jambi applications.
